Authorised BuildersMany years ago Garth Chapman decided he didn’t want to create the standard building company. The standard company has supervisors driving around in utes looking after up to 20+ jobs at once. In these cases a supervisor can only allocate 2-3 hours per week, including travel between sites, to the supervision of each home. Building a Queenslander with all that detailed timberwork and individual plans and specifications could not possibly happen efficiently under the standard supervisor system. Initially Garth selected 3 teams from Builders in Brisbane who had previously undertaken carpentry works under his license to build the homes. These three teams are still part of the Garth Chapman Brisbane team today. The same evolution has occurred on the Sunshine Coast. The number of teams has increased, in some cases carpenters in the original teams have gone on to attain their builders license and become Authorised Garth Chapman builders. The loyalty of all these Builders speaks volumes for the character of the people, the teamwork, and the integrity of the company. As the client you do not pay any more for this system. The builders pay a percentage of their standard building margin so they can enjoy consistency of work.
