Another design from our partnership with award winning designer Steven Claridge. This Display Home from the Queensland Beach House series is called the "Atherton" and is perfect for the Queensland climate. This design is very flexible with undulating land and slopes, as it requires very little excavation, resulting in cost savings normally associated with building on slopes. Our efforts centred on sustainability, and saving money on energy costs has proved very successful. This has attracted a lot of support from Private Enterprise with a number of innovative features. Some of these features are: · LED lighting throughout · Eco Fans 30% less energy with 20% more breeze · In ground rainwater tank · Environmentally friendly paint · Solar hot water Approaching the home, the pretext of the front entrance ignites curiosity and you want to see more. You climb the few steps and pass through the polished pacific oak double doors and now inside, the deception is now evident as you absorb the immense size of the home. You are impelled to continue on through the stunning 1.5m wide hallway entrance into the spacious main living area, with polished timber floors. The Lounge, Kitchen, Dining and Family Rooms display expansive 3.2m ascending to 3.6m high ceilings. The fresh breezes flowing through the open living area are due to the installation of the sliding glass doors and louvre combination featured throughout the home. This configuration allows cool air to enter below and hot air rise out above, resulting in a natural circulation of cool air, consistent to an enormous fan, providing savings on those energy bills. Another spacious hallway guides you to the private section of the home, displaying ample bedroom and bathrooms space, each including extra height doors. Every bedroom features the energy saving sliding glass door/louvre combination looking out into the backyard.
The Traditional Queenslander's 6Star Rated Display Home may require as much as 73% less artificial heating and cooling than that of a 3.5 Star Rated Home. (Statistics based on both homes having the same conditioned floor areas, aspect and climate zone.) |
